Arek Falgun is a novel book about the Bangla Language Movement in 1952 written by Bangladeshi novelist, writer and film maker Jahir Raihan.

Arek Falgun is a story of celebrating 21st February in 1955. In the year of 1955 our Shaheed Minar’s foundation was established. One morning, suddenly some college and university students fell out of the streets barefoot for martyrs of the Language Movement. They are set up a Shaheed Minar with paper and bamboo. This temporary Shaheed Minar was not too much time passing under fire from police.

Arek Falgun is the story of those peoples whose personal efforts and struggles are established the present Ekushey February. Now this day is celebrating the whole as International Mother Language.

About the Author
Zahir Raihan was born on 19th August 1935 in Feni District, Bangladesh. He obtained his B.A (Honours) degree in Bangla Literature from Dhaka University. Shesh Bikeler Meye is the first novel written by him. Another popular novel of Zahir Raihan: Hajar Bochor Dhore and Borof Gola Nodi. He made the very popular movie Jibon Theke Neya. It is one of his best works.
